The spine or vertebral column is the central support system of our bodies. It is what enables us to stay upright and maintains our body posture. Due to its weight bearing job and constant flexing, back pains are a common occurrence. Most spinal injuries occur due to accidents or a loss of flexibility. As we age, our backbone becomes less flexible and this makes it more prone to injuries. Having back problems can pose many difficulties to the patient. Other than experiencing discomfort and pain, some back problems can potentially affect your movement and this can be a major hindrance when carrying out your daily activities. Besides, it can be mentally affective as patients could be forced to adopt a different lifestyle to cope with their spine problems.
